
So... We Got a Puppy
Just when life gets nice, quiet, and predictable... that's when I like to spice things up.
This time, the spice is Owen being added to our family.
He was one of 13 puppies dropped on a friend's doorstep at just 3 weeks old.

Fast forward a few months, and he's 60 pounds of adolescent energy and love.
It's been a long time since I had a puppy, and it's reminding me a lot of running a business.
Here are a few lessons that come up in both scenarios:
You get what you install - puppies don't come pre-programmed. You have to install the behaviors you want them to repeat. Business is the same. If you want your business to run well, you need solid systems installed.
You've got to feed it daily - if you want the puppy to live, you have to feed him daily. Business is like that, too. If you want it to grow, you need to feed it consistently. That means sales activity every day.
Don't forget the love - puppies need lots of love and human connection to thrive. Training will help you get a dog that is easy to love. Your business and your clients need love, too. If you're not loving your business, it's time to change it. Life is too short to have a business you hate.
