August.
In the northern hemisphere it conjures images of heat-soaked days, last-minute vacations before schools starts, and a slump in sales and productivity.
The question is - what do you do about the summer slump?
I used to think the summer slump was a myth. That is was just an excuse for lack of focus and discipline.
These days I'm leaning more towards it being a real thing.
There is something about the long, hot days that make a human want to rest under a shady tree and relax.
And, I don't think that is a bad thing. The rest of year can be hectic with promotions, holidays, school, and general busyness.
Why not take a month to sit back, reflect on life, and enjoy a cold beverage. Let your brain and body rest up for the "back-to-school" blitz of activity.
The next time someone says you're lazy for chilling in August, tell them you are simply summer hibernating, and preparing for a great fall season of sales.
